A powerful exfoliant, salicylic acid is a BHA, meaning it gently, yet effectively, exfoliates the skin. This 2% treatment solution helps exfoliate the inside walls of pores for better skin clarity when used continuously over a period of time. If you suffer from oily skin and clogged pores, this will help to clear the skin and protect from breakouts.
Cleans pores; Reduces black spots; Removes dead skin cells
I have used The Ordinary's 2% SA, Paula's Choice 2% SA and 28 Day Skin 2% SA brands all without any problems so I thought Bolo's own brand at a fraction of the cost would be fine - how wrong was I! I'm not sure what is in their formulation but this reacted really bad with my skin and left me with sore chemical burns after only two applications (the patch test seemed ok). I guess you get what you pay for!
Vegan . Good price. A bit drying, at first.
I like that this product is a good price with proven ingredients and that it is vegan.I have dry skin and have been using AHA and Hydralonic acid for years , buying from Superdrug . I have been very impressed with them. I decided to add a BHA although I may not need it at my advanced age. Got this vegan formula which I used nightly for one week. My skin is a bit dry with it and so I will use it on alternate nights. I think it is a great product for people in their teens, twenties and thirties. The bottle of 30ml is good for travel and is fine because you only need a drop or two. It will last me well. I will update you on how I get along with using it for alternate nights. Update : my sensitive skin has adapted and this product is great. It works. Will buy again.
I bought this as my usual brand was out of stock, but after using it for a month my pores are worse! I have even more blocked pores than before and my skin looks dull. Yes it’s a nice consistency and dries quickly but sadly it is more like water than anything else. It has no smell, and it doesn’t feel like it does much on the skin - as an example, if I pop a spot I normally put salicylic on it - this stuff doesn’t feel like it’s doing anything where as Paulas Choice BHA starts to burn (doesn’t sound great , I know!).Overall don’t waste your money on this, The Ordinary or Paulas Choice are far better.
I’ve used an entire bottle now but only once a day and here are my conclusions: it definitely works… I have not had to use an exfoliator for the entire time I used this… my black clogged and enlarged pores on my nose are noticeably smaller. I do tend to apply a light weight moisturising lotion with spf (cerave AM) immediately after use… I don’t know whether the reduced pore size and clogging is because of this or a combination
Dried out my skin badly that I need to use dry skin relief
Clearer brighter skin
Was recommended this product by a friend and it’s really revolutionised by virtually non-existent skincare routine! My skin is clearer and brighter and emerging pimples deflate without a trace. I use it PM before bed and moisturiser. The consistency is really nice too. Recommend.
2% salicylic acid. Great stuff
I will preface by saying I do not suffer from severe acne. I just generally have between 5 and 10 small spots on my back and shoulders at any one time. This stuff is the first thing to really clear them up properly. It also works amazingly on face spots; I put it on any new spot and it stops it dead in its tracks before it get can get big and angry.I have a feeling this works better if used before outbreaks rather than trying to treat an outbreak that is already in full swing. So use it regularly on any problem areas.
I purchased this serum as the ordinary is out of stock. It is like thick water. It isn’t too runny and has no smell. After using the serum once, I noticed a significant decrease in my oil production. I have really sensitive skin but this serum has not brought out any rashes, dry skin etc. I hope that this serum will reduce my blackheads and continue to work well.
